Watermelon, Lychee, Basil, Whiskey, Umami

Wush Wush coffee has two major things going for it: the most memorable name in the specialty coffee world, and flavors that are so unique, so thoroughly inimitable, they manage to be memorable in excess of the name. The best Wush Wush brews are juicy, fruity, fermented, and malty all at once. This one is all of those things, and then some.

Think of this roast as the coffee equivalent of a cask strength whiskey: dense, complex, so flavor-packed it's downright dizzying. It brews one of the most unique cups, you're likely to encounter. Is it for the faint of heart? No. But if you tend toward rare, iconoclastic coffees, you'll want to take the plunge.

So, what's it taste like? Well, it tastes like a carnival: a head-spinning mashup of flavors, which manages a gestalt that's downright sublime. Pay attention, and you'll catch everything from watermelon jolly rancher, to lychee, to whiskey, to an umami hit that resists classification. The processing here is heavy, and the cup it yields is a Mr. Toad's ride along the fringe of flavor sanity. If you're after a daring brew, you can't do better.
