Tamarind, Candied Grapefruit, Chai Spice, Sugarcane

The phrase "tea-like" gets thrown around quite a bit in the specialty world, so apologies in advance for the buzzy description: this coffee brews a tea-like portrait of Kenya's most prized attributes. It's an AA crop, i.e., the premier designation in the Kenyan system; it hails from one of the countries most celebrated growing areas, the Nyeri region; and it packs a varietal mix that you just can't find anywhere else. Stripped of semi-colons and framed for easier digestion, this one is really really good.
Tamarind reigns supreme here. It's bright, bold, boisterous, and loads of other alliterative adjectives, too, but it's not the only note in the party. Grapefruit makes a showy appearance, styled in confectionery fashion. There's chai spice laced in the cup. Its presence spins the fruit into a tea-like space. Sugarcane rounds the profile, softening the acidity, and the flavors meld beautifully as the cup cools.

This is Kenya at its finest. Brew it as pour over for crystal clear cups, or sink it in a press pot to generate unctuous heft. If you're a fan of the origin and you swoon for sweet/tart brews, add this guy to your cart—you're going to love it.
