Ethiopia Shantawene Dry ProcessMy Friend's Coffee
Raspberry Jam, Tropical Spice, Milk Chocolate, Lavender
Ethiopia plays home to more amazing coffees than state fairs do opportunities for digestive regret. Still, within Ethiopia, the name Daye Bensa looms large. Daye Bensa is one of the origin's most prominent companies, the toast of Ethiopia's Cup of Excellence, taking top slots year after year after year (last year, they took home silver). But even among their reliably exceptional offerings, this brew stands out. It's so good, in fact, that its 2020 iteration placed in the top ten of Ethiopia's Cup of Excellence competition.
The cup opens with an uppercut of raspberry jam, and the flavor is all the more dazzling for the bright tropical notes that hang in the background. The fruit notes bloom as the cup cools, and a lovely hit of milk chocolate rounds out the body. Finally, in an M Night Shyamalan twist, the cup closes with a hint of lavender. If you're into Ethiopian brews, this one is a must-grab.
