Ethiopia Hambela Buliye Dry Process
My Friend's CoffeeDried Apricot, Blueberry, Lavender, Caramelized Sugar
This stunner comes from Kedir and Esmael Hassan, a dynamic duo that specializes in immaculate processing and blue chip lots. If you're into fruity brews, it's going to be your best friend. Not that that should come as a surprise—this is, after all, a dry/natural process from Ethiopia's Guji Zone. But even compared to others of its kind, it's delivers a standout cup.
Dried apricot headlines the profile, the type that marries sticky sugars with just a hint of the fresh fruit's tart acidity. That note bleeds into a lovely hit of blueberry. The ripe variety. More of a supporting note than a starring role, but it's undeniably present and irresistibly delicious. A touch of lavender creeps up on the cool, and the mouthfeel rides some pleasingly thick caramelized sugars—a bit of a brulée vibe.
This one shines as pour over, but you can brew it any which way with great results.
